Gardening

Gardening can be done even in the smallest of places. A windowsill can provide fresh herbs and tomatoes and looks good for the greenery too. Small balconies can have from simple growbags to ornamental pots with fruit, herbs & vegetables.

Last year in my neighbourhood there was a community project to get people growing in hanging baskets. As part of this if you went along to the school community centre to make some hanging baskets up you were allowed a free tomato plant hanging basket, in this there was a cherry tomato plant and a marigold following an organic growing method. The marigold petals along with the tomatoes provided 2 elements of a lovely salad, as well as all the things that you can do with the tomatoes for free.

Other free foods are found when getting exercise and a free day out by going for a walk so always take a carrier bag in your pocket for all sorts if things.

I’ll list free foods as part of a diary along with jobs to be done to get a supply of fruit and vegetables from the garden.
