Little house on a budget

This isn’t a ‘living on benefits’ blog but certainly about living on a very low income. It isn’t just a cooking blog either, although cooking will probably take centre stage. I don’t want to write about the things that are a problem because I want it to be a more uplifting piece of writing. More a case of how I am overcoming some of the problems I face. Cheats Brandy Ice cream

Ingredients £0.71

500ml (1pt) Soft scoop vanilla Ice cream
15ml (1tblsp) Brandy
25g (1oz) Soft brown sugar

Method

1 Put the ice cream into a shallow wide dish.

2 Mix the brandy and sugar together and then spread over the top of the ice cream. Return to the freezer for at least 1 hour.

3 When scooping out curl the spoon across the top of the ice cream. This creates a pretty effect and ensures everyone gets a little of the brandy/sugar mixture.
