Soda Bread

400g plain flour

1 tsp caster sugar

1 tsp bicarbonate of soda

1 tsp salt

300 ml buttermilk (or you can substitute plain yoghurt or sour cream)

1. preheat oven 230°C. Meanwhile mix the dry ingredients then mix in the most of the buttermilk and then the rest if needed.

2. Cook for 10 minutes then turn down the heat to 200°C and cook for a further 20-30 minutes checking for that hollow sound when cooked.
