Oven chips

Ingredients £0.52

500g Potatoes (such as Maris Piper)

1 cal Olive oil spray

salt

Preheat oven to 220°C.

1. Clean but not peel the potatoes. Slice them length wise and then into long chips (thickness is up to you). Place on a baking sheet big enough to hold them all without lying on top of each other. Spray with 1 cal and toss to coat then sprinkle with salt.

2. Place in the oven and cook for 10 minutes toss the chips and return to the oven for around another 10 minutes until golden brown and crispy on the outside but soft when pinched.

Cooking hints

· If making oven chips and frying the battered fish, turn down the oven after 15 minutes to 150°C and cook for a further 10 minutes rather than 5 to allow the chips to keep cooking and the fish to keep warm.

· If using a frozen already cooked battered fish I would cook the chips as normal and at the same time reheat the fish.
